Shá Cage is a professional actor, playwright, poet and producer originally from Natchez, Mississippi, now residing in Minneapolis, Minnesota. One of the most dynamic spoken word artists on the scene, and a noted actress, Shá Cage performs across the US and internationally. She is also co-founder of the MN Spoken Word Association (MNSWA), with E. G. Bailey and Leah Nelson; and of Mama Mosaic Theater, Minnesota's only professional women of color theater company. Her play, Famous Amos, was produced by the Illusion Theater in 2004. She was recently featured in Creative Origins' Word Temple spoken word + hip hop theatre production tour in London, England; and Sema Grass Roots' production of in Leeds, England. She also works with Trú Rúts Endeavors, as a director and an artist.
