Professional career

The Golf Channel signed Rude after his time with the Chicago Bulls, a professional basketball team in the United States. He reports directly for Sprint Post Game and Leaderboard Report. Due to his work with the PGA Tour, Rude spends much of his time traveling.

Bandwagon Controversy

Since 2001, many close friends of Rude have considered him to be a Bandwagon fan. While Rude claims Chicago, IL as his hometown, he was born in Florida, currently lives in Florida, and admires the Florida Gators college football and basketball athletic teams[1]. It is not uncommon for Rude to cheer for the Atlanta Braves during baseball season even with his Chicago Cubs roots[2]. Rude's Bandwagonitis can sometimes be so severe, he will even tell you that he went to high school at Homewood-Flossmoor which are actually two different cities in Illinois. In 2004, Scott Rude's bandwagonitis rubbed off on Ryan Garcia. Garcia claims to be a UCLA fan, but has no solid connections.

Trivia

  • Rude's favorite pledge while at Phi Kappa Psi was Jon Harari. Rude admired Harari because of his ability to aspire, achieve, and dominate. They talked about this on many evenings, spurred by Jon's popular website on the subject.
  • Rude plays Dart Golf frequently.
