Saracen was a 1989 ITV action drama about a private security firm of that name. They operated both in the UK and abroad, usually Africa, but could only carry firearms when on foreign missions. This was a glossy, expensive film production, perhaps intended to bring back the success of previous ITV action drama like The Professionals. It was not a success, however, and only one series of 13 episodes was made. The two male leads were Christian Burgess and Patrick James Clarke. Michael Byrne and John Bennett portrayed Saracen's bosses, and Ingrid Lacey was the female lead.
