In general, a saddleback is the shape of a saddle. In mathematics, the term is often used incorrectly to mean a saddle point. Saddleback is also an alternative name for:

  • Saddleback College Mission Viejo, California
  • Saddleback Memorial Hospital Laguna Hills, California
  • Saddleback Lanes Mission Viejo, California
  • Saddleback Church pastored by Rick Warren in Lake Forest, California
  • Blencathra, a mountain in the English Lake District.
  • The Saddleback or Tieke, a bird found in New Zealand.
  • A traditional gable roof (not a saddle shape at all), particularly when such a roof sits atop a tower.[1]
