Sōsa (匝瑳市 Sōsa-shi?) is a city located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on January 23, 2006 as a result of the merger between the city of Yokaichiba and the town of Nosaka from Sōsa District. As of December 31, 2005, the city has an estimated population of 42,041 and a density of 413 persons per km². The total area is 101.78 km². Sōsa is well known for its agricultural community and especially for growing trees that are sold all over Japan.
