Room Service is an album by Swedish pop duo Roxette, released on 3 April 2001. The album saw 3 singles released including "The Centre of the Heart", "Real Sugar" and "Milk & Toast & Honey". "The Centre of the Heart" was #1 in Sweden and a huge hit across Europe. In a bid to shake off their 'ballad-orientated career', Per Gessle wanted to create a "positive pop bomb album". "Room Service" was a shorter and sharper effort than their previous release Have A Nice Day. The visual theme to the album, directed by award-winning director Jonas Akerlund, was shot at the Californian hotel "The Madonna Inn". It was here the album sleeve, promo shots and even video for "The Centre of the Heart" were shot. The video would go on to be the most expensive Roxette video ever produced, surpassing long-time title holder Spending My Time from Roxette's 1991 Joyride album. The second single and album opener, Real Sugar was a throwback to Marie Fredriksson's 80's vocal techniques and conjured sounds of her voice on such Roxette hits as Dangerous and Dressed for Success. The song was warmly received by the fans for its rocky guitar hooks and scratchy raw vocals performed by Marie. Third and final single, Milk & Toast & Honey was a lullabye ballad with more subtely than the more overstated Listen To Your Heart and It Must Have Been Love. Roxette would undertake their first tour in nearly six years when they kicked off the Room Service World Tour 2001 which saw the duo perform live at most parts of Europe.
