Rodney Linderman, better known by his former stage name Rodney Anonymous (and such variations thereof as "Rodney Amadeus Anonymous" and "Rodney Anonymous Mellencamp"), is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, musician and humorist. As songwriter and vocalist of The Dead Milkmen from 1983 until the band's separation in 1995, Anonymous's brand of satirical punk rock peaked in popularity on college radio in the late 1980s. Since the breakup of The Dead Milkmen, Linderman has continued to produce independent music. His post-Milkmen band, Burn Witch Burn, blended American roots music and folk with Pogues-style Celtic punk. The band released one EP and one full-length album before splitting. In September, 2005, Linderman announced the formation of a new band, Mike Hunt's Honorable Discharge. He has also been known to busk for charity in the streets of Philadelphia, selling issues of a charity magazine as well. His actions have been praised by many members of the public and was noninated for the 2006 GoodTime Award For Charitable Acts. He came runner up to a Ms Dorien Towers. Linderman is extremely active on the Internet, selling music and merchandise and keeping a frequently-updated comedy blog, Rodney Anonymous Tells You How to Live. Rodney's sister, Christine Valverde, is a writer and poet, living in New Zealand. She is published on Blackmail Press (online) and Green Valley Press (in print). She writes on personal, local, national and international interests, with a focus on history. She is currently working on a book for the Rangitoto Island Historical Trust.
