Rockstar is an energy drink created in 2001 by Michael Weiner and his wife Janet. Rockstar is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was founded by Russell Weiner, who currently serves as CEO. Russell Weiner is the son of the talk radio host Michael Savage. [1]. It is sold in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom and Australia and currently comes in seven varieties [2]:
- Rockstar Energy Drink (black can)
- Rockstar Sugar Free (white can)
- Rockstar Juiced Mango (orange can)
- Rockstar Juiced Pomegranate (red can)
- Rockstar Juiced Guava (purple can)
- Rockstar Punched (black/red can)
- Rockstar Zero Carb (blue can)
Rockstar is available in 8.4 fl. oz. (250 ml), 16 fl. oz. (473 ml), and 24 fl. oz. (710 ml) sized cans, depending on the flavor (see below). The drink itself fluoresces when exposed to UV light. Also note that the white sugar free, 16 fl. oz. can has 21 stars on it (16 running from top to bottom, one in the word Rockstar, one under the word rockstar, and three in the recycle logo). Sugar Free Rockstar Energy Drink is aspartame and maltodextrin-free, using instead a blend of Splenda-brand sucralose and acesulfame potassium ("Ace K").

Alcoholic Version
There are three alcoholic versions available. In the United States, Rockstar 21 is offered, which is a combination of Rockstar and vodka with 6.0% alcohol. It is legally considered a malt beverage, as are many similar beverages. In Canada two varieties are sold, one under the name "Rockstar + Vodka", and the other named "Rockstar + Vodka/Pomegranate", with both having an alcohol content of 6.9% by volume. In Canada the legal drinking age is 19 years in most areas, and 18 in others, thus the name difference for the product marketed to Canada.
