Revere High School is the public high school of the Revere School District in Richfield, Ohio. Though it is infamous for being the high school of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, the school has also produced a Super Bowl Champion Andy McCollum and its marching band was featured in the classic holiday film, A Christmas Story. It also the alma mater of award winning Flamenco guitarist Marija Temo, cartoonist John "Derf" Backderf, creator of "The City", and board certified embryologist and andrologist Kathleen A. Miller. Revere sports teams are rivals of Copley High School. The marching band, known as the Revere High School Marching Minutemen, earned its first ever trip to the Ohio Music Educators Association State Marching Band Competition in 2002, earning a rating of "Excellent." The Marching Minutemen have followed that up with "Excellent" ratings at the state level in both 2006 and 2007.

In 2007, US News and World Report issued Revere High School a silver star, signifying that it is one of the top 505 high schools in America. [1]

Traditions

  • The football team always plays its final game of the year against rival Copley High School, and the winner gets possession of The Bell trophy.
  • At the Homecoming football game, instead of the marching band playing the Alma Mater, the marching band will join the Symphonic Choir to sing the Alma Mater. Band/choir alumni who remember their parts are often asked to come to the field to sing with the band and choir.
  • In lieu of a "senior skip day," many recent seniors have opted to participate in Senior Skimp Day, where short shorts and tank tops abound for males and females alike.

Alma Mater

Revere, our Alma Mater
Thy name we give acclaim
And pray that all our lives shall be
So lived to bring thee fame
The scarlet, white and royal blue
Inspire each heart to cheer
Our school, our Alma Mater dear
Revere, Revere, Revere
