Renaissance College, Hong Kong (Chinese: 啓新書院 Abbreviated: RCHK) is a newly opened "all-through" school at Ma On Shan, Hong Kong. It is run by ESF Educational Services (ESL), a company set up some years ago by the English Schools Foundation (ESF) and it offers the IB Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme to all students according to their year levels (Currently, only the Diploma Programme and Middle School Programmes is approved by the IBO[2]). Many of the students and teachers came from Phoenix International School after it closed on July 7, 2006.
Students come from different countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and various Asian and African countries. However, local Hong Kong students make up the majority of the student population in the school. The school offers English, Chinese, humanities, art, music, drama, PE, science, mathematics and design technology classes.

History
On October 26, 2001, Phoenix International School's former school, Canadian Overseas International School closed because of financial problems. Approximately 380 students lost their school. The Education and Manpower Bureau decided to set up a temporary and new school by ESF named Phoenix International School. In the meantime, the EMB promised the ESF to give them land for a permanent campus. The permanent campus was completed in 2006 and was named Renaissance College, officially replacing Phoenix International School in September.
School hours
For primary students, school starts at 8:40 am and ends at 2:40 pm. For secondary students, school starts at 8:40 am and ends at 3:20 pm. Students who participate in CAS (Creativity, Action and Service) after school may end their school day at 4:15 pm and 5:15 pm for primary students and secondary students respectively.
Technology
The College works with Apple Inc., spending HK$60,000 to 80,000 to provide iMacs and MacBooks, running on Mac OS X Tiger.[3] Students in the College are required to bring laptops to school everyday.[3] Laptops can also be borrowed from the school IT centre during the school day, although there are not enough laptops to serve the minority of students who have come to school without their laptops. There is wireless internet connection in the school, allowing students to have access to the internet within the boundaries of the College.
Uniform
For boys (Year 1 to Year 13): Striped polo shirt (either khaki shirt with horizontal black stripes or black shirt with horizontal khaki stripes), cargo shorts, cargo pants, sweater, P.E. shirt and P.E. shorts. For girls (Year 1 to Year 6): Striped polo shirt (either khaki shirt with horizontal black stripes or black shirt with horizontal khaki stripes), cargo pants, sweater, a skort, P.E. shirt and P.E. shorts. For girls (Year 7 to Year 13): Striped polo shirt (either khaki shirt with horizontal black stripes or black shirt with horizontal khaki stripes), cargo pants, sweater, a skirt, P.E. shirt and P.E. shorts.
Facilities
Swimming pool
The swimming pool of RCHK is 25 m long and 1.40 m deep.
Learning Information Resources Center
The LIRC is generally the library. It occupies 2 floors and it provides approximately 20 iMac computers with wireless internet connection.
Cafeteria
Chartwells operates the cafeteria. It opens at 7:30 am and closes at 5:00 pm. It sells a variety of gourmet foods like salads, sandwiches, snacks, hot meal options and many other products on sale. Lunches are priced at $19 per meal. A meal, a drink and a piece of fruit with refills allowed costs $25.Chartwells is involved in the 3.2.1 program
Performing Arts Center
The PAC is used for primary and secondary school assemblies, performances and arts rehearsals.
Gyms
There are 2 gyms in the school, the large one in secondary section and the smaller one in primary section.
Soccer pitches
There are two pitches on both secondary and primary parts of the campus.
Smart cards
Smart cards are given to every student except for Year 1 and 2s. They are used for printing and photocopying, buying food and beverages, loaning laptops (only available for secondary students) and identity identification. If the doors are locked, you can put your card on the sensors next to the door and you have access to enter the area. The card can also store money to purchase items.
Replacement
If students' smart cards are lost or damaged, a surcharge of $50 needs to be paid for a replacement. The school will immediately suspend the lost or damaged card's service. The owner of the lost card must immediately report their card ID to the cafeteria and the administration office. The money stored in the lost card will be transferred in the new card.
Systems
Money needs to be stored separately for buying stationery, books, uniforms, photocopying, printing and buying food and drinks. This issue arose because of the different systems between the cafeteria and the school.
Houses
The four houses at the College are named after the four major dynasties of ancient China. They are the Song Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and Tang Dynasty. All houses have 6-8 groups of 13-15 students per advisory teacher. House activities includes sports and charity events. Community service and volunteer activities, assemblies and meetings with elected student council representatives enable both senior and junior students to interact together, providing many opportunities for students to master co-operation and leadership skills.

Starfish Bay
Renaissance College officially adopted Starfish Bay in early 2007. All of RCHK secondary school students were invited to cleaning up the beach, the first beach clean-up involving the entire secondary school.
