Redstone is a fictional warren from Watership Down, found in the TV series only; there is no mention of Redstone in either the original book or the feature film. We are told that Redstone was dug beneath the deprived remnants of an ancient Celtic stone circle by a band of regular monarchist rabbits and lasted for a fair amount of time. Once an Efrafan Wide Patrol raided the warren and took many hostages including the radiant doe Primrose; upon her return she found the warren had been empty for seasons because of an epidemic, except an old Owsla captain named Captain Broom who managed to stay alive; the spirits of the other Redstone rabbits lingered on until she finally accepted and let go of her past. Later on we are told that a band of fugitives from Cowslip's warren settled at Redstone, including Hickory who was the chief rabbit there, his mate Marigold and a friend of Hickory's called Flax. In Series 3 the warren was taken over by General Woundwort and Vervain; these two used aliases since they were presumed dead (Weatstock for Woundwort and Chaf for Vervain), but they did not remain long as humans decided to develop the site, so all concerned were escorted by Woundwort to the warren of Darkhaven. Woundwort made a deal with Cowslip. If he could eliminate the rabbits of Redstone using humans, then he can have Cowslip's mystic rabbit Silverweed. After believing that the Redstone rabbits were gone, Cowslip honored his end of the bargain and allowed Woundwort to have Silverweed. However unknown to both Woundwort and Cowslip; Hazel and some of the other rabbits from Watership Down had rescued them in time and now the rabbits live on Watership Down.
