Raven is a United Kingdom-based Gothic clothing manufacturing business. It offers a range of corsets, basques and capes as well as trousers, dresses and skirts. Its clothing is sold at various outlets in London's Camden Market, especially Stables Market, Camden Town. Raven is one of the leading clothing brands from the gothic scene and probably the most famous export from the U.K.. This brand has become famous for their punk and EBM clothing ranges, manufactured with lots of ornaments and attention to detail. They have three brands to choose from: Raven, S.D.L. and XS Punk.

Brands

The gothic clothing sold under the brand name Raven is in the traditional vein of the gothic subculture, i.e. the traditional romantic or renaissance clothing, and consists mainly of items made from velvet fabric, lots of lace and airy fabrics like tulle or voile. Clothing sold under the name S.D.L. is heavily inspired by the E.B.M. or electro-goth movements, so this range of clothing usually involves rubber, UV piping and padding that makes the clothing look like cyborg armor. The latest of the clothing ranges offered by Raven is the XS Punk range, which has picked up the most common and popular elements of the punk subculture and fashion. Safety-pins, chains and spikes are common ornaments on these items.

Popularity

Raven is an established company in the UK and can be found in most local gothic shops in the area of Camden Market. It is becoming increasingly popular in other countries with a large gothic scene, like Germany, but has yet to get the big break through in the UK.
