RTL Televizija is a Croatian commercial television network that was launched on April 30, 2004 and is 75.5% owned by the RTL Group. It was launched as the second commercial television network with national concession in Croatia, the first being Nova TV. From the very beginning the network started to broadcast their own daily news program, which still goes on air every day at 18:30 CET, as well as couple of its own shows. Their most popular domestically produced shows include the talk show Sanja, the soap opera Zabranjena ljubav, daily magazine Exploziv, domestic sitcom Bibin svijet, and the Croatian version of Big Brother, which was also the most popular television program in Croatia when it was aired. The network also introduced popular German and American action-crime series such as Alarm für Cobra 11, CSI, Cold Case etc. to the Croatian audience. Popular shows from domestic production, Dvornikovi, Mjenjačnica, Wife Swap quickly became very popular amongst wide Croatian audience. They are regularly showing numerous American sitcoms and other television series from both domestic and foreign production as well as popular movies, predominantly from American production. The live broadcasts of sporting events such as boxing fights and Croatia's international football matches are occasionally also part of their program. RTL Televizija quickly became popular among the Croatian audience and in mid-2005 they were the second most viewed television program in Croatia, after HRT 1, and have had approximately 97% of the country's territory covered with their signal. Also, big part of audience hates RTL Televizija due to many re-runs (some movies and TV shows appeared more than 4 times) and "cheap" program.
