- This article is about the Italian radio station Radio3. For other radio stations of that name, see Radio 3.
RAI Radio3 is an Italian radio station operated by public broadcasting company RAI, specialising in classical music. The station was founded in 1950 as the Terzo programma and was loosely based on its British namesake, the BBC Third Programme, which had been established in 1946. It adopted its current name in 1976.[1] Programming has focussed on the cultural sphere: classical and avantgarde music (including live concerts), drama, literature, history, philosophy, religion and mythology.
