Providence Middle School is a middle school in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The school mascot is the Ram. The school colors are black and gold. In 1990 their soccer team went 15-0 beating archrival Midlothian Middle three times during the year: twice in the regular season and in the tournament finals.

In 2007 Tameshia V. Grimes succeeded Harold D. Saunders as Principal. Saunders went on to head Chesterfield Countys's leadership department. Mainstay Providence staff members include guidance coordinator, Sandy Lambert, who in 2008, will complete her 36th year at Providence. Guidance counceler Steve Fox, also has 30 years at the school. In 2005, former, Washington High School coach Steve Floyd took over as head girls' basketball caoch. That year the Providence Lady Rams lost in overtime in the county semi-finals to eventual champion Swift Creek. The Rams held UVA recruit, Jasmine Pitts to only 13 points in the game. The season before the Rams were 1-11. In 2007 the Providence Lady Rams were the only school in the county to beat undefeated county champion Robious. It also marked the first time in 18 years that Providence had defeated Robious. Also, in 2007, the Providence boys' basketball team, led by Benedictine graduate Edward Maynes, advanced to the county semi-finals and lost in overtime to Manchester. Both the boys and girls basketball programs have enjoyed winning seasons the last few years. In prior decades, neither program was very successful. Current Department Chairs include: Health and PE: Charles Anderson (In 2007 Anderson funded and created a state of the art strength and conditioning center for Providence student athletes. English-Ed Maynes Social Studies-Steve Floyd Science-Jenan Dahmas Math-Amy Floyd SPED-Patti Kauzlarich Fine Arts-Lisa May Each year Lester Miller,(8th grade SS teacher) produces and directs a student play. Previous plays include Oklahoma, Annie, and the Wizard of OZ.
