Prince Nikolai of Denmark (Nikolai William Alexander Frederik; born 28 August 1999) is a member of the Danish Royal Family. He is the elder son of Prince Joachim and his former wife, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg. He has a younger brother, Felix. Prince Nikolai was born at the Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital). He was christened in chapel of Fredensborg Palace on 6 November 1999. His godparents are Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, The Earl of Wessex, Peter Steentrup, Nicola Baird, and Camilla Flint. Prince Nikolai is the oldest grandchild of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and her husband, Prince Henrik. After their divorce, Prince Joachim and Alexandra have joint custody of Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix. As of April 2008, Prince Nikolai is fifth in the line of succession to the Danish throne. Next to that, he is also in the line of succession to the British throne.
