Porter Hall (September 19, 1888October 6, 1953) was a film actor known for appearing in a number of films in the 1930s and 1940s many times, due to a weak chin and shifty eyes, playing movie villains or comedic incomptent charactors. Porter, who appeared in Miracle on 34th Street, Arizona, Double Indemnity, The Dark Command and Ace in the Hole, didn't start appearing in films until he was 43 years old. Prior to that, Hall spent nearly 20 years touring as a stage actor. In real life, Hall was a deacon at Hollywood's First Presbyterian Church.
