Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl, known in Japan as Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl (ポケットモンスター ダイヤモンド&パール Poketto Monsutā Daiyamondo Pāru?) is the anime series which follows Ash Ketchum through his trials and tribulations in the Sinnoh region. Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl is the continuation of Pokémon: Advanced Generation, with the premise of “New Adventure”. The anime was in correspondence to the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games showcasing the various Pokémon and locations in the Sinnoh region. The anime saw the departure of May and Max, but also the addition of Dawn. While Ash Ketchum was to continue on his journey to become a Pokémon Master, Dawn wants to compete in Pokémon Contests.
