Pi Recordings is a jazz record label whose motto is "dedicated to the innovative". Pi was founded in 2001 by Seth Rosner. Pi has released records by Henry Threadgill, Anthony Braxton, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Wadada Leo Smith, Fieldwork, the Revolutionary Ensemble, Liberty Ellman, Marc Ribot, Roscoe Mitchell and James "Blood" Ulmer's Odyssey the Band. Despite being a relatively young label, Pi has established itself as a driving force in cutting-edge jazz; Pi's albums have received SESAC and Album of the year awards and artists on the label are regularly named in year-end polls.
