General Sir Peter Hunt GCB, DSO, OBE (1916 - 1988) was Chief of the General Staff, the professional head of the British Army.

Army career

In 1966 Peter Hunt was appointed Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and in 1968 went on to be Commander of Far East Land Forces. In 1970 he became Commander of the British Army of the Rhine. He served as Chief of the General Staff from 1973 to 1976 when he retired from the British Army.

Later career

In retirement he became Constable of the Tower of London.
