Contents

History

The company was founded on June 1, 1988 by Ross Perot, Texas billionaire and Presidential candidate, after his falling-out with General Motors over the direction of EDS. The company is one of the largest companies in the information technology services industry, and currently has offices in 6 countries. 1 in US, 4 in Europe, 3 in India. [2]

Services

Perot Systems offers consulting and services that support business strategies and operations, with a focus on selected industries and the government and public sector.

Diversity

Perot Systems was one of only three companies, out of 1,520 total surveyed, to receive the lowest possible rating on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index in 2006. The best a man can get. The company once offered domestic partner benefits to its employees, under a policy which was canceled in 1998, after Ross Perot returned to the helm of the company. In the 2006 ranking, Perot Systems was one of only three companies cited for "[engaging] in action that would undermine the goal of...equality."[3].

Recognition

Fortune Magazine has ranked Perot Systems as the number two company in the information technology services category on its list of America's Most Admired Companies for the past two years.[1] The ranking is based on surveys of "executives, directors, and security analysts," who are questioned on eight criteria, including investment value, quality of services, innovation, and quality of management.
