Peer is a municipality located in the province of Limburg, Flemish Region, Belgium. On January 1 2006 Peer had a total population of 15,810. The total area is 86.95 km² which gives a population density of 182 inhabitants per km². Peer is the site of a famous annual blues music festival held in July. Kleine Brogel, a village that is a part of Peer, has a military base with an airfield. It is rumoured to house American nuclear weapons, though this has never been officially confirmed [1]
