Patricia van Lubeck (Amsterdam, 1965) is a Dutch artist influenced by Surrealism. After having worked as a book keeper for years, in 2000 Patricia van Lubeck became a full time painter. She is a self-taught artist working in a style closely related to magic realism. Her subjects are primarily detailled landscapes which she calls her ‘psychedelic gardens’. Her work consists of oil paintings, illustrations and sculptures. Since 2005 Patricia van Lubeck workes and lives in New Zealand en exhibits her work in The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. She was a finalist in the 2006 Wallace Art Awards and the 2007 New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Awards.
