Pascal de Vries is best known as the founder of lyrics.ch, the International Lyrics Server which indexed lyrics and made it searchable for its users. In 1997 Pascal founded the site and it became a success in only 2 years. He was working as a network consultant in his home town Zurich, when he was sued by the music industry, specifically Harry Fox Agency, Warner/Chappell Music Inc., and Polygram Music Publishing Inc. for copyright infringement in 1999. The argument ended in a vow to cooperate to create a searchable database for the users. This relates to the recent Pear Lyrics.
