Palette is a small wine AOC in the Provence region of southern France, near Aix-en-Provence. The AOC was established in 1948. Red, white and rosé wines are produced, in approximately equal quantities. The red wines must contain at least 50% of Grenache, Mourvèdre (10 % minimum) and Cinsaut. The whites at least 55% Clairette, but a very large number of other grape varieties are permitted in both. Some well-known producers are Château Simone (in Meyreuil) and Château Crémade (in Le Tholonet).
