Pêro de Alenquer (15th century) Portuguese explorer of the African coast. Accompanied Bartolomeu Dias in his journey around the Cape of Good Hope in 1487/1488. Latter wrote a description of Vasco da Gama's first voyage to India.Pêro was born in Alenquer,Lisbon.
