One of North America's oldest amateur musical theatre societies, Ottawa, Ontario based Orpheus Musical Theatre Society was founded in 1906. Orpheus performs three shows annually at the Centrepointe Theatre in Ottawa, Ontario. Past performers in Orpheus shows include Alanis Morissette, Peter Jennings, and Michael Burgess. The Orpheus website (below) has a comprehensive list of past show and performers, maintained by Tanya Chang. For their 2005-2006 season, Orpheus presented Meet Me In St. Louis, West Side Story, and Victor/Victoria. For their 2006-2007 season, Orpheus will celebrate their centennial and present Beauty and the Beast, Guys and Dolls, and a show written by two Orpheus members titled The Spirit of Orpheus.
