"On-track" or "On-target" earnings (OTE) feature in many job adverts, especially for sales-personnel. The typical pay structure may be composed of a fairly low basic salary with an additional amount of commission. The package will usually be called OTE or on-target earnings, meaning that if a salesperson hits specified targets, then they will get that amount of money. A higher commission can be paid if the person performs beyond this target. On-target-earnings is the payment made to a sales executive for meeting specific targets.[1]
