ORP Komendant Piłsudski was a gunboat in the Polish Navy between 1920 and 1939, and she served later in the German Kriegsmarine. The ship was launched on January 24 1917 and was taken into service by the Polish Navy in 1920. The ship was sunk during World War II on September 30 1939. The Germans however found it to be repairable and lifted it and renamed her into M 3109 or Heisternest. The ship was sunk again on September 16 1943 during an American bomb raid at Nantes, France. The only sister ship in the Polish Navy was the ORP General Haller. Two other ships of the same class were the Finnish gunboats Karjala and Turunmaa
