Norton is a small Worcestershire village (and Housing Estate) south of Worcester. The village is split in two by the M5 motorway, with the original village to the east. Norton has always been a small village in the Worcestershire countryside, having close ties with nearby Littleworth and Kempsey, other Worcester radial villages. The village saw considerable development in 1990s, mainly centred around the large decommissioned Norton Barracks, which have now been converted into apartments. In recent times Norton has been seen more of a suburb of South Worcester, with only 0.8 miles separating it from the city's southern border. It is also rumoured to be the location where the body of murdered London estate agent, Suzy Lamplugh, is buried, although several searchers in recent years have not returned anything, Most likely because there has been many new houses built in the area. The Village is the location of St. Peter's Garden Centre and Worcester Norton Cricket Club. Worcester Norton Hockey Club also originate from the village, but now play and train at nearby Nunnery Wood High School, Worcester.

New station

There are plans to link Norton with a new Worcester railway station, Norton Parkway, due to its proximity to the main Cross Country Route to Plymouth, Edinburugh, Birmingham and Cheltenham. The Village would also see improved access to Junction 7 of the M5 and a new park and ride scheme to Worcester City Centre.
