Nora Walker (née Holden) is a fictional character on the television drama, Brothers & Sisters. She is portrayed by Sally Field, who is one of the main characters of the series.

Character history

Background

Nora is the dominant but likable matriarch of the Walker family. She has five children, Sarah Whedon, Kitty Walker, Tommy Walker, Kevin Walker, and Justin Walker (Season 1 Episode 1). Along with her children she has a brother Saul(Season 1 Episode 1). Her mother, Ida, is still alive, who she had a difficult relationship with (Season 1 Episode 13). She has one daughter-in-law, Julia, who is married to Tommy. Nora also has 4 grandchildren, Paige and Cooper, who are Sarah's children, and William (deceased) and Elizabeth, Tommy's twins.

Season 1

In the first episode Nora's husband, William, died of a heart attack. She later learned about his long affair and illegitimate daughter with his mistress, Holly. Nora slowly learns to accept this secret daughter, and meanwhile deals with the pains and joys of her own 5 children.
