Early Life
Nora was dancing on a cruise where she met Tom Scavo. The two ended up having a one night stand and Nora became pregnant.
Season Two
In the second season episode, "It Wasn't Meant to Happen", Lynette helps her boss, Ed Ferrara, with his sexual life, by sending his wife sex-themed e-mails. But when Fran Ferrara finds out the truth, she makes Ed fire the responsible one, but Lynette is too important for the company, so Ed lies to his wife, telling her that the person responsible for sending those e-mails was Lynette's husband, Tom. Lynette gets angry when she finds out. Ed hires a forensic accountant to check his employees' expenses, and finds out that Tom has spent some company money on flowers and theater tickets in Atlantic City, thus firing him. Tom makes up excuses, but Lynette doesn't believe him, so she follows him to Atlantic City in episode 2.22, "No One Is Alone", where she finds him together with Nora, assuming they're having an affair. When Tom gets back, he finds out that his family aren't in their house anymore. Lynette and the kids are staying at a motel. When Porter suffers a fall and breaks his arm, they reunite and Tom tells his wife the truth: he isn't having an affair, but he and Nora had a one night stand which resulted in them having a daughter, Kayla. Tom had recently found out about this, and when they meet, Nora asks for the back child support that Tom has been owing her for all these years. Lynette finally agrees to give her a lot of money, as long as that keeps her away from their family. But Nora wants the two families to gather and spends the money on an appartment close to Wisteria Lane, so that that gathering can happen.
Season Three
Apparently, Kayla is a very sweet girl that gets along very well with Lynette. It's Nora that causes all the problems. She and Lynette don't get along, because Nora is childish and annoying, and also, she's very tempted on stealing Tom from Lynette. When Tom wants to open a pizzaria, Lynette doesn't appreciate the idea, but Nora is very supportive to Tom behind Lynette's back, and one night Nora meets him at the restaurant and they have dinner together, and after they've drank a bottle of wine, they kiss, but Tom swears to her that he doesn't want anything more and reassures her that he loves his wife. Nora is very upset at this, and leaves. Tom and Lynette had had a fight before this event, and when he comes back home, they get back together on good terms. But, when her husband explains to her what happened, Lynette breaks into Nora's house and threatens her that if she ever comes near Tom again, she will hurt her. Due to this, Nora decides to leave to Mexico with her daughter, to work as a stripper in a danceclub. However, Lynette tries to sue for custody of Kayla, and then goes to the Field's Supermarket to shop for hamburgers for lunch, and Nora, recognizing Lynette's car in the store's parking lot, enters to confront her about the custody case. Meanwhile, Carolyn Bigsby, a neighbour, creates a hostage situation because her husband Harvey cheated on her. During the event, Carolyn shoots Nora in the chest and, before she dies, Nora tells Lynette that Kayla is the only thing she's ever done right in her whole life and that she needs to take good care of her. Lynette promises her that she will love Kayla like she was her own daughter, and Nora closes her eyes, rests her head and dies.
