Nighthawk Records is a US-american record label founded in 1976 by Leroy Pierson. In the first years following its foundation Nighthawk Records released several high praised samplers of pre and post war recordings by bluesmusicians such as Robert Nighthawk (the name-giver of the label), Professor Longhair, Sonny Boy Williamson, Robert Lockwood, Jr., Little Walter, Lightnin' Hopkins, and Big Joe Williams, plus an album of new recordings by Henry Townsend. Since 1980 Nighthawk Records specialise in Jamaican Music.
