Newton is a small village in the English county of Cumbria. It is located on the Furness peninsula north-east of the port of Barrow-in-Furness and south of the town of Dalton-in-Furness. Richard T. Slone, an award winning painter, was born in Newton and eductated in Dalton-in-Furness.[1]
