The Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (Dutch: Milieu en Natuur Planbureau) is a Dutch research institute that advises the Dutch government on environmental policy issues. The research fields include sustainable development, energy and climate change, biodiversity, transport, land use, and air quality. Up until May 1, 2005, the agency was a part of the Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). Since January 2006, it has been an agency under the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and Environmental Management (VROM) and one of four 'planning offices' of the Dutch government, the other three being Centraal Planbureau (CPB), Ruimtelijk Planbureau (RPB) and Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau (SCP). The Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency is located in Bilthoven and employs some 250 people.
