National University (NU) is a university in Manila, Philippines. It was founded by Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson in 1900. National University is the oldest existing private, non-sectarian university in the Philippines. Its first president is Camilo Osias. National University, with its team the NU Bulldogs, is a founding member of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and a former member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) (NCAA-Philippines). It is also a pioneer of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU). Its international affiliations and memberships include the Association of Southeast Asia Higher Institutions of Learning (ASAHIL) and the International Association of Universities (IAU). The school is located along M. F. Jhocson Street in Sampaloc district.
