National Conservation Area is a designation for certain protected areas in the United States. National Conservation Areas are managed by the United States Bureau of Land Management. These areas are similar to National Wilderness Areas but with fewer restrictions. Restrictions vary between conservation areas but generally the areas are not leased or sold under mining laws and motorized vehicle use is severely restricted. Some National Conservation areas also restrict use of the land for public grazing.
