Nano
Species: Lyrian
Gender: male
Affiliation: Starfleet
Posting: USS Enterprise
Position: communications officer

Nano is a fictional character in the Star Trek universe. He was the communications officer on the Enterprise under Christopher Pike.

Nano only appeared in Marvel Comics' "Early Voyages" comic book series, which is not considered canon. He is part of the Lyrian race, a Federation member species which also only appears in "Early Voyages". The Lyrians have a collective consciousness, and live in a strict society which is based on each member being assigned a specific duty for their entire lives. Nano was generated specifically to be the Lyrians' representative in Starfleet, and as such, Nano would be unable to return to his home planet and live there- There's no place for him. Nano is humanoid, but has a differently-shapen head, with no hair, and large, solid red eyes. His skin is purple, and he seems to naturally hunch over a bit.
