Mother's Day is a 1980 horror film, directed by Charles Kaufman, the brother of Troma Entertainment co-founder Lloyd Kaufman, who served as an associate producer on the film. The plot concerns three friends who reunite each year who have decided to take a camping trip. Out in the woods, they are captured by a group of two men, apparently working for their mother, who enjoys watching them rape and torture. Due to its scenes of violence and rape, it is often considered an exploitation film. Although not particularly successful at the time of the release, it was released on DVD in 2000[1] by Troma Entertainment and has garnered a cult following among horror/exploitation fans. In the UK, the film was rejected by the BBFC, banning it from sale. In 2006, the film was shown on the Horror Channel, evidently with no cuts. It has still not received a DVD release in the UK, however, making its status there somewhat ambiguous. The film was originally released with an R rating in Australia. However, in 1985 it was banned and remains so to this day. Popular comedian Bobby Collins makes an appearance as a motivational speaker.
