Montgomery Field (IATA: MYF, ICAO: KMYF, FAA LID: MYF) is a public airport located six miles (10 km) north of the central business district (CBD) of San Diego, in San Diego County, California, USA. The airport covers 456 acres and has three runways and two helipads. It is named for John J. Montgomery, an aviation pioneer who in 1883 made the first manned, controlled, heavier-than-air flights in the Otay Mesa area of San Diego. Montgomery Field is one of the nation's busiest airports for small aircraft and has a number of flying clubs and flying schools based there.
