Moment of Truth, released August 21, 1990, is the second offering by country artist Suzy Bogguss under the Liberty Records (now Capitol Nashville) label. After the success of her first album, Somewhere Between, Bogguss was concerned about being typecast as a Patsy Montana-like "singing cowgirl" since her yodeling was featured prominently on the two cuts, "Night Rider's Lament" and Montana's own "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart". For this album, Bogguss focused on more contemporary-sounding songs as a way of broadening her horizons. However, the results were lackluster, and the album only produced two weakly-performing singles. Due to poor sales, the album has been deleted from the Liberty/Capitol catalog putting it out of print but was repackaged for the British market as Country Classics in 2001.
