Mike Reno (né Joseph Michael Rynoski, born January 8, 1955) is a Canadian musician and lead singer of Loverboy and a drummer. He has also fronted other bands, including Moxy. Born in New Westminster, British Columbia, after graduating high school, Reno moved to Calgary, Alberta. There, he met Paul Dean in 1978 and got together for a jam session, which led to the formation of Loverboy. Reno has also contributed to film soundtracks. In 1984, he performed a duet with Ann Wilson of Heart, "Almost Paradise," for the movie Footloose and, with Loverboy, contributed "Heaven in Your Eyes" for the movie Top Gun, in 1986. In the late 90's, during a VH-1 interview, Reno attributed the decline of Loverboy to the rise of grunge bands such as Nirvana. In 2004 Reno release his first solo album titled Renovation. The album is comprised of 10 tracks closely resembling the sound of his past glories with Loverboy. As of 2007, Reno continues to tour and play live shows with Loverboy. The band's next album, Just Getting Started, is currently available on itunes and is due for release on October 30th exclusively through Walmart stores. They are performing across Canada in winter, 2007, including a headling spot at the Grey Cup party in Toronto.
