Michael Twist (born April 6, 1972) is Canadian writer of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, he obtained a B.A. in Communications and English from Simon Fraser University. He has experience as a professional English teacher and obtained Trinity College (TESOL) certification in Barcelona, Spain.

In Highs and Lows: A Personal Approach to Living with Diabetes (2001) Twist argues for a re-evaluation of the way we view diabetes and those who suffer from it.

His published poetry chapbooks include Here & Now (1998) and Fireworks (2000). He has written for publications including Shared Vision, The Danforth Review, Momentum, Diabetes Health, Maelstrom, and Webspace.
