Meads is an area of the town of Eastbourne in the English county of East Sussex. It was one of the four hamlets which became part of the town at the turn of the 18th/19th centuries, when the district was becoming fashionable in royal circles. The neighbourhood has lately been dubbed "Meads Village", and there is a parish church for the area, dedicated to St John the Evangelist. There is also a chapel in the former All Saints Hospital which was previously a nunnery and is now being converted into flats. The village has a small number of shops that includes a post office incorporated into a self-service store. Despite demolitions over the years, there are still many large Victorian houses, some of which have been converted into flats. The 'Ascham Memorial Arch', at the entrance to the site of what was once Ascham St Vincent's Preparatory School, commemorates former pupils who were killed in the First World War.
