"Maybe" is a pop-rock song written by Pelle Ankarberg, Niclas Molinder, Maryannn Morgan, and Joacim Persson for Trine Rein, and re-recorded by the No Angels for their fourth studio album, Destiny (2007). It was co-produced by Ankarberg and Twin and incorporates an uncredited sample of The Beatles' 1969 song "Come Together." The song was released as the album's second single on June 15, 2007 (see 2007 in music) and reached number 36 in Germany and number 62 in Austria, making it the band's lowest-charting single to date.

Writing and recording
"Maybe" was written by Redfly production members Ankarberg, Molinder, Persson, and British songwriter Maryanne Morgan, and actually offered to Norwegian pop singer Trine Rein, who recorded the song in mid-2006 for her unreleased studio album.[1] Violinist Andreas Ljones contributed addititional music to Rein's version, which was finally picked to become one out of a total of 464 songs to apply for the Melodi Grand Prix 2007 and moreover made the final selection of the 18 participating entries.[1] While the song failed to succeed on the semi finals, it eventually made the "second chance" round, before dashing once again in the final round on February 10, 2007. After the No Angels' secret reunion in mid-2006 Redfly offered "Maybe" for the band's fourth studio album Destiny. The band has described the mid-tempo song as a "tpyical No Angels" record: "This song rocks! [...] It shows another facet of us and is absolutely in line [with the band]."[2] Nadja Benaissa called "Maybe" the "jiggiest title" on the album: "It's about being in a quandary," she said in an interview with Bild-Zeitung, "and about living along the lines of 'maybe yes - maybe no'..."[3] The quartet premiered the song during a special concert in the Radio Enery studios in Munich, Germany on March 5, 2007,[4] and by April 6, it was announced that either "I Believe in You," "Been Here Before," "Maybe," or "I Had a Feeling" would be the next single and Universal started a poll asking the fans to decide.[4] However, according to Bild am Sonntag "Maybe" eventually won over piano-laid "I Believe in You."[4]
Music video
Following a four-day dance and choreography training,[5] the music video for "Maybe" was eventually filmed in Cologne, Germany on May 4, 2007.[6] It was the No Angels' seventh clip to be directed by Marcus Sternberg, and worldpremiered on May 18, 2007 on German music network VIVA's show VIVA Live.[7] The video features former Become One member and "Maybe" choreographer David Hernandez Sanchez as well as You Can Dance contestant Jimmy Surles as dancers. Similar to previous single "Goodbye to Yesterday" the video does not have a substantial plot; it mainly focuses on the girls and their dancing choreographies, finally merging into a boisterous party crowd neat the end of the clip.[8] However, upon its release the music video was widely advertised as the band's "sexiest video" to date,[9] a fact underlined by the band's own statements: "We wanted a cool and sexy video, that facilitates a lot of energy," Jessica Wahls said in an interview with the Making of crew.[8] As Nadja Benaissa reported on the band's Bunte blog, the band members had purchased several parts of their outifts in a local sex shop.[5]
