Maxwell Scherrer Cabelino Andrade, or simply Maxwell, (born August 27, 1981, in Vila Velha, Brazil) is a Brazilian football player currently playing for Internazionale. He plays as a left back or winger. He is an attacking player noted for his ball control and his tricks. His former clubs were Cruzeiro Esporte Clube and Ajax Amsterdam. His contract with Ajax Amsterdam was shortened to expire on the 2nd of January 2006, in order to join Internazionale on a free transfer. Due to one non-EU and non-Serie A player registeration quota per year, he was loaned to Empoli F.C. In July 2006, Internazionale officially announced the signing of Maxwell on a four-year contract. He scored in F.C. Internazionale Milano Primavera's 7-0 defeat of Vicenza Calcio on November 4, 2006. Maxwell impressed in his first season in Serie A, most notably against FC Parma at the San Siro when he scored a fine solo effort which was voted Inter's goal of the season by Inter channel viewers.
