Mats "Masse" Magnusson, (born July 10 1963 in Helsingborg). is a former Swedish football player for Malmö FF before moving to SL Benfica. He played for Benfica from 1987/88 to 1991/92, were he went to win the National Championships of 1988/89 and 1990/91. He was the top scorer of the I Division, in 1989/90, with 33 goals. He played at the European Cup finals of 1988, lost to PSV Eindhoven (0-0, 5-6 in penalty kicks), and 1990, lost to AC Milan. Magnusson has 30 caps for the Swedish national team, and played in the World Cup finals in 1990. He returned to Sweden to play for Helsingborgs IF in 1992. Alongside a young Henrik Larsson he helped the club reach the Swedish premier division, Allsvenskan.
