Daryl Mark Williams (born August 8, 1973) is an American country singer, more commonly known by his stage name Mark Wills. Signed to Mercury Records in 1996, Wills made his debut that year with the single "Jacob's Ladder", a Top Ten single on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. His self-titled debut album was also released that year. Between 1996 and the present, Mark has charted sixteen top 40 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including two Number Ones (1999's "Wish You Were Here" and 2003's "19 Somethin'"). He has also released five studio albums, a Greatest Hits package, and several compilation albums. In 2006, Mark signed to Equity Music Group, a label started by country music artist Clint Black. To date, Wills has charted three singles on Equity; his first album for the label, titled Familiar Stranger, was originally slated for release in September of 2007,[2] although the release has since been delayed.
