Mark Francis O'Connell (b. May 6, 1981) is the drummer of the American alternative rock group Taking Back Sunday.

Biography

Born May 6, 1981, O'Connell was raised in Rockville Centre, New York. O'Connell attended Nassau Community College and worked as a car valet. He has a pit-bull and likes bands like Metallica, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin. His favorite thing to do is play the drums. His influences include Rancid and Operation Ivy. He grew up with ex-member Shaun Cooper. Mark played drums on Straylight Run's demo songs, although he was not credited for playing. While Taking Back Sunday was in Phoenix, Arizona on the Projekt Revolution tour, Mark herniated three discs in his back, and had to undergo immediate surgeries.
