1 These albums are according the RIAA certification standard[16] undercertified. Normally Rainbow, the Greatest Hits and The Remixes would be certified 4x platinum, 2x platinum and gold, respectively. According to RIAA Carey has shipped 61.5 million copies of her albums (63x Platinum).[17]. Among female artists she is only behind Barbra Streisand (71 million) and tied with Madonna (63 Million) for most albums sold. Soundscan reported that Mariah Carey sold 49.9 million albums within the years 1991-2006. She is only behind The Beatles (53.7) and Garth Brooks (66).
